Q: What is the difference between Microblading and Permanent Makeup?
A: Microblading is one the ''newest' techniques in permanent makeup. A hand-held or manual way of implanting ink into the skin to mimic the appearance of hair. Permanent uses a machine to tattoo pigment into the skin.
Q: What is an Ombre or Combination Eyebrow?
A: The best of both worlds! This technique has two steps. First the eye brow is microbladed, then a machine is used to add shading to give the eyebrow more definition.
Q: Will I be uncomfortable or in pain during the procedure?
A: Some people experience some discomfort during the procedure. This is described as a stinging or plucking sensation, which subsides as soon as the procedure is over. We use excellent topical anesthetics for all permanent makeup procedures, which normally reduces discomfort to a minimum.
Q: I'm anxious about letting anyone else do my makeup, especially if it is permanent. What if I don't like the design, shape or color after the procedure?
A: Your technician will do "facial mapping" which takes your facial shape into consideration. This helps your technician flawlessly design a brow, eyeliner or lip liner that suits your facial features best. You approve design work before she proceeds with the procedure. This is YOUR face, YOUR procedure and it must meet YOUR expectations
Q: How much down time? How soon can I resume normal activities?
A: Down time is about 7-10 days. During that time we ask clients with recent permanent makeup to avoid topical makeup, tanning or exfoliating directly over the treatment area. Avoiding public pools, oceans or open bodies of water is also recommended. Procedures normally produce little swelling or trauma to the surrounding skin. As a result, you may resume normal activities, as long as they do not have an adverse affect on the healing process. For example, you would not want to introduce bacteria to the recently treated area by sweating. Activities like jogging, lifting weights, going into a sauna, hot yoga, swimming, and spray tanning should be avoided.
Q: Is this considered a safe process?
A: Yes, it is a safe process if conducted by a trained technician that follows the proper sanitation and sterilization requirements. Your technician should be certified in blood borne pathogens and have proficient experience in sterile technique. Sterilized tools, supplies and a manufactured sealed, sterilized needle are to be used at the beginning of each and every procedure. The used needle is placed in a disposable (Sharps) container after the procedure has been completed. In addition, all areas the client will come in contact with while at the office are sterilized. By conducting procedures in this manner, clients are assured that their health has been safeguarded to the highest standards. After leaving the office, it is then the client's responsibility to care for the procedure in a manner that encourages normal healing
Q: I have heard that these procedures require multiple sessions. Why is that?
A: For several reasons. One is due to the condition of the skin. Each skin type is different. Some skin types are thicker and healthier and more pigment will be retained in one session. Also, fine details, additional color depth, or design adjustments are easily made after the initial healing is complete. A follow-up visit is scheduled 3-4 weeks after your initial session to reinforce any areas that may fade too much. Typically, Eyebrow procedures take a total of 2 sessions. Eyeliner and Lip procedures usually take a total 3 applications, 4 weeks apart to achieve the desired outcome. (note: not all clients will experience the same healed result and additional touch ups may be required.)
Q: If this is permanent, why does it fade and why are future touch-ups necessary?
A: The major issues affecting the appearance of your procedure is exposure to the sun, changing health conditions, medications, anti-aging products and hormonal changes. At some point in time, you will want to refresh the color, as far as how often is mainly client preference. Permanent makeup pigments are designed to be implanted slightly darker than the desired shade, so the final healed result is the exact color the client wants. During the healing process the pigment will fade 50-60%.
Q: Can you go over or correct old permanent makeup?
A: In most cases old, faded permanent makeup can be corrected. If you have an old tattoo that is faded to an odd color or you have a shape you are no longer happy with please schedule a consultation.
Q: Do Eyelash Extensions damage my natural lashes?
A: No - not if applied correctly. Your technician should be properly trained in the application of individual eyelash extensions. No two lashes should be glued together, and no adhesive should come into contact with the skin. Allergic reactions to adhesive fumes are possible.
Q: Whats the difference between Classic, Hybrid and Volume Extensions?
A: Classics are 1:1. One extension glued to one natural lash. Volume extensions are lighter, thinner lashes and a handmade fan of 3-10 lashes can be placed onto 1 natural lash, giving a super full and fluffy appearance. Hybrid extensions are a mix of classic and volume lashes.
Q: What is the difference between American and Russian Volume?
A: Traditionally Russian volume fans are much shorter in length across the entire lash line compared to American volume. Your technician should be skilled in "lash mapping", taking the eye shape into consideration to predict which styles will look best on each client.
Q: How long do Eyelash Extensions last?
A: Each clients retention can be different. Typically, lashes are like nails. A full set is placed, then every 3-5 weeks fills are needed.
Q: How long does a Tint and Lift/Brow Tint last?
A: 4-6 weeks.
